I received this urgent prayer
request from Jane Guinn. Please hold this little boy,
Joshua, and his family in your prayers. Thank you.
I just received a call from my sister-in-law. Her little 8
year old grandson, Joshua, who is 8 years old, has fallen
from a 3rd. story window and is very injured. We are not
aware of the injuries buthe is unconcious. They are in
Germany and the father, Jason, is in Iraqso the mother is in
that country alone, Please everyone pray for these sweet
Christian people whom I love very much.I will let you know as we
know. My brother and sister-in-law are flying to them as
soon as arrangements can be made.
Thank you so much.

Dear Friends,
I wanted to let you know about a JobSeekers Program that Vinings
United Methodist Church is running beginning on the evening of
Thursday, May 15, from 7-9, and ending on July 10th.
The program is designed to equip people who are seeking
employment to be more effective in their job search. It
presents multiple topics related to job search – one each week –
by experts in the field, and is completely free to anyone
wishing to attend. There will also be a time of informal
networking with business leaders in Atlanta. I am attaching a
brochure about the program so that you can look at it to decide
for yourself whether or not it is a worthwhile endeavor.
If you know of someone who has been laid off or someone who is
looking for work, please direct them to
www.viningsjobseekers.org.
The web site explains all about the program and gives people
the opportunity to register online for this program. Please
feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be
interested in attending.
Blessings,
Rev. Beth Dickinson

contact lenses again on Sunday, continue with the antibiotic
eyedrops.
Thank you to everybody who has been in prayer for her.

Five Finger Prayer
This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5
finger prayer a part of our lives.
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by
praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to
remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once
said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those
who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors,
and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others
in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of
our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and
industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and
guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to
many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano
teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who
are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and
night You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest
finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in
relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall
be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to
pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other
four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective
and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
