Prayer Request

Please keep Barry Leithead in your prayers.  Barry is the 28-year old son of a former coworker and friend of mine.  Barry suffered a stroke on December 21st and is in the neuro ICU at Emory Hospital.  His parents have been told he should recover but the recovery time will take months.  Please pray for the medical team taking care of Barry and also his parents, Tad and Sue, as this has been a great shock to them.  Pray for comfort and complete healing.  Thank you.

Update and message from Pastor April…….

Hello, Hollydale Family!  Thank you for praying for Miss Nita.  The doctors discovered a UTI and are working to get her hydrated enough to recieve the antiobiotics she needs interveniously.  She is in Green Tower, Room 763.  Please, whether you know her or not, stop in to see her to share the love and hope of Christ not only with our dear sister Miss Hilt but with her room mate as well.  There is no better way for folks to see who Christ is than through the love and hope that shines through each one of you!I recommend visits of 15 minutes or less as Miss Nita is tired and needs to rest.  Please take a card of encouragement to Miss Nita so she and her family will remember you visited.  Please take a card of encouragement for her room mate as well as God leads you.Thank you for your compassionate heart for Christ and the deep walk of being His disciple.  It is a joy to see!In His Service Pastor April 678.571.7818

Church Canceled December 10, 2017

Due to the weather conditions and possible road hazards tomorrow morning on many of the side roads, Hollydale will not meet for services but suggest you have church at home with your loved ones.  The Peace of Christ comes into our lives when we are still and know that God is mighty.  Meditate upon Psalm 27:14.  Tomorrow morning be still and look outside and see God's power and work.  Be still and know that it is in Christ that we rest.

Open your Bible together and share some time in the scriptures.  Have a BLESSED Sunday!

Hollydale Pumpkin Patch!

Spread the word so folks are buying their pumpkins from our Hollydale UMC Patch!

  • Share that all the money is split between the church & the Navajo Indian Reservation in NM.

  • Share there is face painting, pumpkin carving, story time, & pumpkin painting on sight.

  • Share that on Fridays from 2-4pm there will be Pamper the Pets where the kids can come interact with animals (rabbit, turtle, dog) and help raise money for the Girl Scouts.

  • The pumpkins are reminding us of our most powerful weapon/tool for living well.  Challenge your friends, coworkers, and people you don't know standing next to you in line at the checkout to stop by and see if they can figure out what the pumpkins are reminding them to do.

Truck To Houston - Food & Help For Hurricane Hit Families

I just found out that Pastor Roberto has secured a whole truck load of food from Atlanta Food Bank! Praise the Lord!  AFB is donating it to the Houston area.  This Sunday after the 11am service, the Powder Springs Hispanic community is hosting a luncheon to raise money to pay a truck driver to drive the food to Houston.  All are invited.

Additionally, if anyone wants to go to help the community of Houston, there is a group going from Thursday to Sunday of next week.  Contact Pastor April if you want to go.

If you want to help with supplies for those going, bring any of the following to Hollydale UMC this Sunday and place them under the altar.  We are collecting scrub brushes, buckets, garbage bags, gloves, soap-Dawn, Clorox bleach, shovels, paint brushes/rollers, paint pans, paint, and most of all prayers!

Pray for those suffering and families who have lost loved ones in Mexico.  Pray for those facing devastation in Puerto Rico.  May all lean upon the Savior and draw close to God.

Hello, Friends,

This message is to let you know that Hollydale United Methodist Women will NOT meet tonight.

I want to thank all of you who helped cook, prepare, serve and clean up for the Wednesday Night Supper last week on September 6!  Our Hollydale United Methodist Women are always so supportive and so generous!  Please know that you are appreciated!

I hope that you are all doing well, and I hope that you and your family did not have any storm damage or problems.  Let's pray for all who were affected by the recent storms.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

"Rejoice in the Lord always."  Philippians 4:4

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."  1 Peter 5:7

May God bless you.

Hollydale is having a Fall Soccer Season and we look forward to working with you and supporting our community in this outreach ministry! Listed below are upcoming activities and dates where we need your help.  Please take a look and let Pastor April know where you can serve!  Thank you.

We have ordered new soccer goals, soccer balls, and ball pumps!  Please plan to help us get them ready on Sunday, September 3rd before church, 9 - 10AM.

FALL SOCCER SEASON - SEPT 6th to NOV. 11th (Reg. 9/6, 5-5:30PM)
Our Fall Soccer season starts September 6th and we hope that you will consider being a part of it!  We need coaches and parent greeters at every practice.  Practices will be on Wednesday (if 25 or less kids) and possibly adding Monday nights (if over 25 kids) from 5:30-6:30PM.  This season the kids will practice in 10 & over or 9 & under groups and will break out into their teams for the game days.  (If we get a large number of players and coaches, this is subject to change and go back as it was in the Spring Season.)
There will be weekly practice for one hour each week + three game day Saturdays (Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11).  Cost is $50 if new player; $30 if a continuing player (already has a uniform from an earlier 2017 season).  Registration will be in person on Wednesday, September 6th, 5-5:30PM.

We will have a soccer skills drills during our Great Day Give A Way Yard Sale on September 16th, 9am - 11am.  We will let kids attending the yard sale kick goals and dribble obstacle courses to see if they would like to sign up to play.

If you are interested to volunteer and haven't spoken to me about it yet, please plan to attend Safe Sanctuary Trainingon September 3rd and send me an email or text right away to let me know how you would like to participate (coach, assist a coach, visit with parents at practice, concession stand, field prep, purchaser for concessions).

All coaches and adult volunteers are required to take yearly Safe Sanctuary Training.  This will be given on Sunday, September 3rd from 9:30-10AM.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support.  We will conduct ourselves and this program to be instruments of the grace of Christ Jesus to these kids and families used and blessed by God to invite them into relationship with Christ and to grow in that relationship at Hollydale UMC.

Pastor April

Tiffany Evans' - Fundraiser and Building Days on Habitate Home Now till Aug. 26th!

Please reserve Sept. 3rd for Tiffany Evans’ “Down payment & needed household items Fundraiser”.  Tiffany will serve Chicken Alfredo, salad, and bread that Sunday after our worship services.  She welcomes any support you can provide.

Her goal is $3,000 which will give Tiffany her down payment, pick out a new washer, dryer, beds, couch, and other needed items.  If you want to give Tiffany something towards this, it is not tax deductible, and the check should be given directly to her, not the church.

Also, any Saturday before August 26th that anyone 18 or older wants to help with building the Habitat house can now just text Tiffany at 404.883.4916 the week before and plan to be there on Saturday.  Any amount of time will make a big difference!  Come out and show the Hollydale UMC love - bring your friends & family with you!  Let them know you are from Hollydale UMC when you show up for the build!

Pastor April

Undie Sunday - July 30th

Start shopping now for those socks and undies!

Our Hollydale children will be taking up an offering of children sized underwear and socks on July 30th.  The kids will be the ushers to collect the items.  These will go to bless families in need in the community near Powder Springs.

If you won’t be available on the 30th, we will miss you at church, but you can bring in the items between now and the 30th .  Thanks!
