Please continue to keep Alexis McDonald in your prayers.  They removed the bolt from her head and are waiting to see what is next.  She went home over the weekend and will see her neurologist today for what the next steps might entail.  Her pressure levels seem to fluctuate and the doctor didn’t want to move forward with a shunt as he’s concerned about the fluid levels.  Please continue to keep Alexis and her family in your prayers.  You may have seen a recent news blurb about her last week on WSB-TV.  Her dad is a Paulding County Sheriff’s deputy.  If you would like to send Alexis a note of encouragement, her address is below.  Thank you.

Prayer Update

Thank you to all who have prayed for Alexis.  I received an update last night and wanted to pass it along and ask that you continue to keep her in your prayers as they determine the next steps.  Her surgery went very well and so far she is doing good, now for the monitoring processes.  She still has a way to go and based on how the monitoring goes, she may be having surgery later this week.  Please continue to pray for comfort and healing.  Thank you. 

Please keep Alexis, my son-in-law’s 2ndcousin, and her family in your prayers.  Alexis was involved in an auto accident before Christmas and has been suffering with a lot of pressure on her brain and is on heavy medication.  She will undergo brain surgery at Egleston on Tuesday to have a bolt catheter inserted to test the pressure on her brain.  It measures real time pressure and will help determine what the next steps will be and how extensive her next surgery will entail.  Please pray for the medical team at Egleston as they perform the procedure and pray for comfort and healing for Alexis.  Thank you.

Please keep Cheryl Petro and her family in your prayers.  Cheryl is the mother of one of my daughter’s closest friends, Wendy, and her mom was recently diagnosed with cancer, which has spread throughout her body.  Below is a message from my daughter about the situation.  Please pray for comfort and peace for Cheryl and her family.  Thank you.

Will you send a prayer request out for Wendy's mom, Cheryl Petro. She had a mass that they thought was benign but it turned out to be cancer and it has spread throughout her body.  I don't know a lot of detail because she doesn't want to talk about it, but I know that it is bad enough that they have already called in hospice. It has happened really fast, she just had the mass biopsied in late December.

Everything was lost, including her pets.  Pray for strength and comfort during this time as they work through everything. Prayer Request Update

Thank you to all who have been praying for Kristen. They found that the pain radiating on her left side area was from having two small hairline fractured ribs for where she fell at home. There really isn't much they can do for the ribs except take Advil and use a Lidocaine pain patch on the area. She has spoken with a Behavior Therapist at Kennestone and has chosen to do an out-patient program and has been referred to a psychiatrist for the depression and alcohol abuse counseling. I was hesitant to have her go on an out-patient basis, but we shall see how it goes and it's not under my control for sure. She is being released from the hospital today, so please continue to hold her in your prayers that she can make the changes needed in her life to give her balance and be healthy. I'm doing okay, just tired for those that asked. Thank you for being my prayer warriors!

Please keep my daughter Kristen in your prayers. I went to the doctor with her this morning and she was having severe abdominal pain and trembles. She has been abusing alcohol and in a deep depression for a while now and that Is why we went to the doctor in the first place to seek some help and guidance. She wouldn’t go on her own so I took her myself. The doctor sent her to the emergency room and she is being admitted to Kennestone hospital. They did a CT scan and there were some cysts on her pancreas which is signs of alcohol abuse. The doctor is consulting with a counselor and hopefully she will soon be given options for detox and help. I’ve known about her situation for a while but she wouldn’t acknowledge it. Today she did and admitted she wants help. Please pray for her health, both physical and mental and that she will receive the support and help needed to bring her back to a much healthier life. I know God has this! Thank you.

This is a prayer request from my daughters friend Tiffany. Please pass it along to anyone that you know will pray. He has sickle cell and already had to have his hip replaced at only 18 years old. He is back in the hospital unrelated to hip.

Sorry to bother on this Saturday morn, but I have a request. Please stop whatever you are doing at noon and say a prayer for Anjari James Carter. I am a believer in the prayers of the righteous and that is why I chose you all. No need to reply back, just go to God and have a conversation with him on behalf of my child. Psalm 86:2 says, “Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in You. You are my God.” I lift my child up to him and I am asking for healing over his entire body, that Ja may be transformed as the Lord hears and answers each one of our prayers!! Thanks in advance and I love you all. Don’t forget at noon, let’s ALL go to him and intercede on behalf of Ja.

Please be in prayer for Kathie Tharpe, the sister of my coworker Mitchell Taylor.  Mitchell shared with me this morning that Kathie has battled breast cancer and overcame it, but then began having severe headaches and balance issues.  After testing, a brain tumor which is cancerous was found and she underwent radiation recently, which shrunk the tumor.  They did a follow up test and found that she now has small cancerous tumors in her brain and upper spinal cord and will be undergoing a medical trial with a new medication they hope will destroy the cancer. IT has been successful in 50% of the people who have been part of the trial.  Kathie is a strong Christian woman and believes God will take care of her and appreciates all who will hold her in prayer.  Pray for answers, comfort and healing for Kathie and her family.  Thank you.

Travel Mercies

Please pray for travel mercies for Melissa Wheeler and her mother Donna.  They just finished packing up a 26-foot U-Haul, and Melissa is driving it to Charleston to her new home and her mom is driving the other vehicle.  They have a long trip ahead of them with Friday afternoontraffic and rain.  Both are also sick and not feeling so great.  Prayers are appreciated.  Thank you.

Urgent Need

Please keep a friend of Alzia Burton in your prayers.  Her friend just lost her home and doesn’t have a job.  She is looking for a place to live with 3 kids…one is in college but comes home on break. A program that provides housing assistance is needed.  Please pray for this mother and her children during this difficult time that they are able to find a place to live and she finds a job very soon.   Thank you.

Susan, please share this with Hollydale Methodist.  I have an update from Karen Peterson.  He had surgery to remove a brain tumor this past Monday.  The surgeon team got most of the tumor but they couldn't safely get all of it.  There was also one part that didn't look the same as the rest so they separated and sent both off for pathology.
