Correction to Sunday’s message on 0ctober 4th-Commmunion Sunday. Sermon title is “Imitators of Christ” Scripture is Philippians 3:17-21 Hope to see you there at 11:00!

This upcoming Sunday, October 4th, is Communion Sunday and communion will be served during the in-person worship service. For those unable to attend the 11:00 service, Pastor Hull has communion elements available for pickup this week from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm, Wednesday – Friday at the church. Stop by, say hello and pick up your communion elements. Communion will also be part of the Facebook Live service starting about 11:30 am. Please join us!

Pastor Hull’s message this Sunday will be “When Your Faith is Tested” and scripture reading will come from Matthew 4:1-11. Hope you can join us either in-person or via our Facebook Live broadcast. God’s going to be there! Have a BLESSED week!

Please keep the family of Fred Wilkins in your prayer.  Fred was a former member of Hollydale UMC and passed away on Sunday, September 20th.  His funeral services are being handled by Benson Funeral Home in Dallas and below are the times for visitation and services.  Please pray for comfort and peace for his family as they grieve the loss of their loved one.  Thank you.

Please keep the family of Alfrado Edwards in your prayers. Alfrado is the husband of Rev. Shirley Edwards and father of Karen Edwards. Alfrado passed away on Wednesday, September 2nd, after a long battle with dementia and poor health.

Funeral services will be this Friday, September 11th at 10:00 am at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park on Dallas Highway. Details are provided below. Please pray for comfort and peace for the family.

Please continue to keep Jom Brubaker in your prayers. As many know, Jim has underwent stem cell surgery recently and Nancy posted the update below regarding his condition. Please pray for comfort and continued healing and that the down days like he’s having today he knows that God is holding him close. Thank you.

Need those prayers, dear friends. He’s hit bottom today, sick, profoundly weak and discouraged. The PA said he’s on track...another week or so til the numbers change. Doesn’t make it any easier. Thank you in advance for praying.💖

Please keep the family and friends of Nancy Chandler in your prayers.  Nancy is the mother of Angie Shonkwiler, Joyce’s daughter-in-law, and very close lifelong friend of Joyce Shonkwiler.  Nancy passed away on Sunday after a long battle with multiple illnesses such as MS and cancer (3 times).  She has been under Hospice care for a year, originally not expected to live a couple months.  She was a fighter but is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.  Joyce has requested prayer for Nancy on many occasions. Her funeral will be held this Wednesday at West Cobb Funeral Home on Macland Road.  A link is provided below with the obituary and visitation (12-2pm) and funeral service (2-3pm).

Update from Melissa

Please share this update with my friends at Hollydale:

David is out of surgery.  The crohn’s disease was more widespread than anticipated so they had to remove more of his small intestine.  He is in recovery and my mom should get to talk to him once he wakes up.  The big hurdle was making it through surgery and praise God for his blessings so far.  The recovery will be difficult and he is still dealing with mesothelioma which is responding to chemo for now.

Please be in prayer this morning for David, who is Melissa Wheeler’s mother’s husband. David is undergoing a highly critical surgery this morning and it’s not certain he will be able to make it through the surgery due to his health. He’s been struggling with very poor health for quite some time. The medical team are concerned about him having the surgery as well, and need your prayers as they perform the operation. Prayers for God’s hands on all in the operating room and for Donna, Melissa’s mother as she waits for answers. Thank you.
