Update on Karl Zeggert

A little goods newsfrom Bonnie!

Susan, I have good news! Karl is starting to turn around. He still has pneumonia but is on minimal O2, the nose tube has been taken out today ( pray that the intestines and the ability to swallow will work), the doctor is doing a CT tomorrow to see if they can remove one of the 2 drains in his stomach. He is extremely weak and will be in the hospital about 2 weeks after being moved from ICU. Then he will be placed in rehab until he get his strength back. He has a long road but I feel he can make it!

Update

Update from Bonnie on Karl.

God is good!

Karl called me this morning! He is very weak but he had enough energy to call!

The doctor called later in the morning and said that he is doing so much better. He is breathing again and his lungs are opening up. They had collapsed. He could move Karl out if ICU but because it is the weekend so he’ll wait.

Answered prayers!

Prayer Request

Please keep Karl Zeggert in your prayers. Bonnie posted the message below and I’m sharing so all prayer warriors can support them.

Please add Karl Zeggert, my husband, to your prayer. His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday (20th). He has to be at St Joseph in Atlanta at 5:30 am. He has a cancerous polyp in the small intestine. The oncologist has 3 options for surgery and he won’t know which option he’ll be performing until he opens the duodenum and looks at the polyp. There is a 70% chance that the surgery will be the Whipple. This surgery takes upwards of 8 hours. This is the surgery that takes the entire duodenum, 1/3 of the pancreas, 2 of the 3 bio ducts and the gallbladder.

I can not go into the hospital at all. Karl could be in the hospital up to 10 days. So after I drop him off I won’t see him again until I pick him up to bring him home. This is a very big surgery to go thru all alone. I will be called every 2 hours during surgery to be given updates and daily during his hostipal stay. I’ll send out an update Wednesday night or Thursday after surgery.

Prayer Request

Please keep Fred Birk, his mother and father in your prayers.  Fred sent the message below with concerns for his mother and asked for prayers for himself as he is so far away from his parents.  They live in Iowa.  Thank you.

My dad called and said my mom was vomiting last night. This morning he told me that they are in the ER. She’s fallen a few times and there is blood in her urine and on PET scan.  Please pray for answers and for me as I am so far away from my parents.

Thanks

Fred

Please keep Rick Wright’s father in your prayers. Received the email below regarding a fall he has taken and serious medical condition. Pray fir answers and comfort for the family. Thank you.

Good evening
Please put Rick’s dad in your prayers. He fell in the assisted living center where he lives. The nurse didn’t know how long he was laying there. They took him to the local hospital where they ran tests. They discovered he has some bleeding in the brain. They told Rick’s sister that he is gravely ill.
Pray for this family as they go through this during the covid time and the Holidays. I believe and know prayers help.

Thanks and love,
Fred and of course Rick

Update and Continued Prayers

Received the update from Bonnie below on Karl Zeggert and his health situation.  Please continue to keep Karl and Bonnie in your prayers as they go through the next steps to make him better.

I’m singing praises for this past week!  Both the cardiologist and pulmonologist approved the surgery for my husband, Karl.  They say that his lungs are strong and his heart is strong what more can you ask for. Thank you for your prayers, I was able to accompany him to both appointments and he was calm. All praises belong to God!

Prayers and Updates

Good morning Hollydale family,

Just a few things to share with you all. Hope all is well in your world!

PRAISES! Pastor Hull spoke with Danny Toliver this week and Danny's cancer has gone into remission! Praise God!

PRAYERS - Stanley White had a cardiology appointment this week to check on some blockage he has. The doctor said nothing has changed and they don't want to do any surgery at this time. Continued prayers!

Patrick White had a stress test this week and it went well. He is dealing with some health issues and heart problems, so please continue to hold him and his family in your prayers.

Susan Davis and her son Paul both tested positive for COVID and are quarantining at this time. Minor symptoms for them both. Prayers for their health and safety of others.

Continued prayers for all during this time of year as many deal with depression and loneliness at the holiday season, and with the limitations of the pandemic, it makes it even more difficult. Check on them!

Continued prayers for all to stay safe & healthy!

Update

Praises and continued prayers for Cindy Northrup.  Carole sent the below medical update on Cindy and her battle with cancer.  Praises for progress and success, and continued prayers for her comfort and healing.  Also keep Carole in your prayers and she continues to care for her family.  Thank you.

Susan I have an update on Cindy. She has the results from her PET scan.  It is a mixed bag of news. The best news is that the cancer in her breast is 100% gone. Thank you God for that. She has improvement on the lesions from T7to T10 of 50%. The compression fracture on T11 is no worse but no better. The plan is to stay on the same treatment for the next 3 months and then recheck.  We both feel blessed to have all of your prayers and support through this time. God bless you all.

Prayer Request

Please continue to keep Cindy Northrup, Carole Shelburne’s daughter, in your prayers.  As many know, Cindy was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and has been undergoing two different chemo treatments.  She goes every 3 weeks for treatment, and the after chemo shots are very painful and a problem as they make her sick and cause bone pain.  The shots are necessary as they boost her white cells that the chemo messes with and it takes her a week to recover and by the time she feels better, it’s time to do it again.  Please pray for comfort for Cindy as she struggles through this battle.  It’s an uphill battle for both Cindy and Carole who is there to help and to support her.  Thank you.

If you would like to send Cindy and Carole a note or card of encouragement, their address is below:

Update on Ruth Davenport..... I received the below update from Carolyn Wilson on Ruth Davenport who underwent heart surgery on Monday. Please continue to keep Ruth (and Tip & Patty) in your prayers as she recovers from her surgery. Pray for strength, patience, healing and comfort. If you would like to send a note or card to Ruth, her address is below. Thank you. I talked to Ruth today. She came home from the hospital yesterday. She had a pacemaker put in and is hoping that this will help some of her problems. She has to rest and take it easy, of course. She thanks everyone for their concern and for all of the prayers. I know that she would appreciate some cards. Carolyn Wilson Address: 1781 Kimberly Drive Marietta, GA 30008

Prayer Request

Please be in prayer for Mary Justice’s niece, Jamie Justice. Mary shared Jamie’s health concerns below and asked for prayers for Jamie, her husband Michael and their family. Please keep them in your prayers as they accept the heartbreaking news and find comfort in knowing people are praying for them. Their address is below should you wish to send a note of encouragement. Thank you.

Susan, please send this out to the wonderful prayer warriors within Hollydale and to those other praying folks on the email list. Just got a message on fb regarding my Niece, Jamie Justice. Jamie went into the hospital just a couple days ago as she was feeling really bad and has been diagnosed with cancer yesterday. She's going to have a chemo port put in next week and do some chemo over the next few months. There will be a surgery in 3-4 months. The heartbreaking news is the doctor said her life expectancy is around 54 months. I know as well as all the praying warriors that odds can be beat and we serve a Mighty God. Please lift up Jamie and her husband Michael. I am going to share this with Touch of Grace for folks to send cards and I am enclosing that address here as well. They are a sweet couple. They have 3 daughters. Address: 12410 Franklin Park Lane Huntersville NC 28078 She works with SunTrust and when the buyout occurred she was transferred to Huntersville. So they are far from family. Thanks for the prayers.
