Good morning,

 I’ve been meaning to send an update but just haven’t taken the time.  Still processing it all.  The biopsy was positive for cancer but they said it was well differentiated which means it has not spread and can be removed.  Doesn’t think additional treatment such as radiation or chemo will be necessary, but can’t be 100% sure until surgery is done and they clarify the stage it is in.  I had an appointment with the Gastroenterologist surgeon last Wednesday and it went well.   I'm now waiting for the WellStar scheduling department to call and set a date for surgery. The surgeon indicated it should be within the next couple weeks.   Hopefully sooner than later.  Thank you for your continued prayers and for reaching out and checking on me!  God’s got this!

Received the below message from Stanley White aboutLouise falling.  Please pray for answers, comfort and healing.  Thank you. 

 

Louise fell in the bathroom at home yesterday. She was pain with trouble using her left arm. This morning I was helping her get ready for the day so I could leave for Cartersville. She fell again face down. I call the paramedics and they took her to Wellstar South. It's not life threatening, they are still working with her. She is in the ER but not in a room. They haven't taken me back at this time. With much Love to our Lord. Thanks so much and you can share with one as you see fit.

Good afternoon,

 

I come to you today asking for prayers for myself.  I’m not one that does that very often.  Earlier this week I had the 10-year routine colonoscopy, and a polyp was found that they believe to be cancerous and a biopsy was done.  I’ve not been told of the biopsy results but the gastroenterologist has referred me to an oncologist for review.  I went this morning to have a CTScan done to determine if there were any other areas that may be affected and have an appointment with the oncologist on Monday morning to review everything to determine next steps.  I will share this has been a bit unnerving with just the possibility.  Prayers for good news-no cancer spread, calmness, discernment, right medical treatment and healing. I appreciate it!

Good afternoon,

Received a prayer request from Ms. Joyce for her daughter-in-law Anita’s sister, Reba Johnson.  Anita and Bill have been caring for Reba for a while.  Reba lives in Alabama and has had multiple battles with her health (cancer, bladder removal, hysterectomy to name a few)  and recently refused having a feeding tube and has now been placed under Hospice care.  Prayers are asked for guidance, acceptance and understanding for Reba and her family during this time.  Thank you.

Received the below prayer request from Gail Black for herbrother-in-law Josh.  Please pray for comfort and healing for Josh as he undergoes surgery and recovers.  Thank you.

 Wynona’s husband Josh has an infected wound on the bottom of his right foot.  He was admitted to Cobb Wellstar last evening.  He will have surgery tomorrow at 1pm.  Prayers for healing.  Gail will be with Wynona during this time.

Please keep Toni Cox in your prayers.  As she mentioned in church yesterday she has several medical appointments coming up with various tests.  She sent a text message to me today letting us know that her appointment she was to have tomorrow has been postponed due to her doctor being sick.  She didn’t want people waiting for her to let them know what was said.  She will update later once she’s had the appointment.  Thank you for your prayers!

Please keep Joyce Shonkwiler in your prayers. Joyce will be having surgery on her hand on Thursday for carpel tunnel as well as stiffness in her hand and fingers and not able to use it much at all due to the pain. Due to her heart condition she can only have local anesthesia. Prayers for her health, the medical team, comfort and a full recovery and she gains use of her hand again. Thank you.

I received a prayer request from a co-worker about a very close friend of hers and was asked to send out a prayer request.  Please keep Whitney Mawer and her family in your prayers.  Whitney’s husband Curry has been battling cancer for a while now and recently passed away.  They have four children from 5 – 14 years old.  Prayers for acceptance, understanding, answers, comfort, and healing as they move forward from this tragic loss. Please have your prayer warriors pray for my mom, Toni Cox. We spent Monday night at the E.R. She has been diagnosed with AFib. She followed up with her primary doctor today. They found several other things, including a kidney stone. She has several appointments with several doctors coming up. Please pray for healing for my mom, wisdom for the doctors, and for understanding for mom and our family. Thank you!

Please keep Peggy Thornton in your prayers.  A day late in getting this request out and my apologies for that.  Peggy underwent surgery on her neck Monday morning due to a mass needing removed and examined.  Below is a report sent from her daughter Sarah.  Praises it wasn’t cancer!  Please continue to keep Peggy in your prayers as she recovers from her surgery.  Thank you. 

 

 

Surgeon just called. She did great. They are putting in her final stitches. They got the mass out and didn’t have to fill the space with any fat transfer. The mass is just a benign cyst, nothing scary. The nerves after surgery were all firing and responding, so she should not have any nerve damage, although it’s normal to have some possible temporary numbness in areas.
